We have had this in black for at least a couple of years. It goes everywhere with us and has been dragged through mud, sand, the ocean, you name it - it still looks fine and functions perfectly. I love how it can be any length - we use this function all the time: around my waist, over the shoulder, just in my hand, or to attach to different objects when we're out sitting around in public like at a restaurant. I'm back to order one in pink just for because I want some color variety.
